Matt Henry
Director of Development
Arts and Humanities
University of California, San Diego
As Director of Development, Matt Henry will be collaborating with the divisional leadership, faculty, and staff to expand fundraising efforts for the UC San Diego Division of Arts and Humanities. He will focus his efforts on maintaining existing relationships with current supporters and cultivating new advocates for the division’s academic initiatives and development priorities.
Prior to his arrival at UC San Diego, Matt was affiliated with UC Santa Cruz campus for nine years as a development officer in Annual Giving, Student Affairs, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and the Arts Division. Matt’s prior arts background includes marketing and development positions with Ballet West, Salt Lake City, Utah; Corporate Council for the Arts, Seattle, Washington; Seattle Repertory Theatre, and San Jose Repertory Theatre.
Matt received his B.A. in Leadership Studies and Psychology from the University of Richmond;
Richmond, Virginia and his M.A. in Not-for-Profit Leadership from Seattle University; Seattle, Washington. The title of his thesis was Non-Profit Organizations’ Efforts to Attract the Resources (Time and/or money) of Generation X. Matt’s other interests include tennis, hiking, independent film, and travel.
