Kimberly L. McCartney
Director of Development
Arts and Humanities

University of California, San Diego

As Director of Development, Kimberly L. McCartney's mission is to
cultivate relationships with and support for the UC San Diego Division
of Arts and Humanities, whether reconnecting alumni with their alma mater, or raising funds for the students, initiatives, research and programs within the Division.

An alumna of UC San Diego and board member of the UCSD Alumni Association, Kim has a natural passion for the work of our faculty and the life of the university, and brings considerable talent and experience to the Division from several years in fund-raising and financial advising. Kim achieved a notable record of accomplishment as a top fund-raiser for the City of Hope Cancer Center in Seattle and San Diego. She served as founding Director in the San Diego region for four years of that tenure, increasing the organization's base of donors from 1,000 to 10,000. Kim also has significant expertise as a financial advisor, with a focus on planned and estate giving. In that capacity, she has worked closely with several individuals and companies in the San Diego region, and is an active participant in the region's business community.

Earlier in her career, Kim worked in a training capacity with the United States Foreign Service, and was an English-language instructor in Japan. She is also a certified yoga instructor. Her direct line at UC San Diego is (858) 534-9043, and her email is kmccartney@ucsd.edu.
