Michele Palma
Director of Development
Arts and Humanities
University of California, San Diego
As the Director of Development for the Arts and Humanities,
Michele Palma will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward
major gifts for the Division of Arts and Humanities including
its department, program, and research units. In this capacity,
her primary responsibility will be to formulate and implement
development activities based upon the Division of Arts and
Humanities' goals.
Palma comes to UCSD by way of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, in Hartford, Connecticut, where she was the Vice President of Development. Within this leadership role, she was responsible for diversifying the organization’s revenue streams by increasing donor relationships, consequently increasing funds for the Clubs. She was also responsible for Board recruitment, and the implementation of a Planned Giving program. Prior to her tenure at The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, she was the Development Director for the Village for Families and Children in Hartford, and responsible for the organization’s Annual Fund, auxiliary activities and event planning. Palma serves as Development Chair on the Board of the FOR ONE WORLD organization, which is a nonprofit organization that supports the Ayi International School in Ghana.
Palma earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Human Rights from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Palma enjoys reading, traveling, salsa dancing, gardening, horseback riding, ceramics and yoga.
